Microchipping is one of the easiest things you can do to insure you are reunited with your pet if they ever go missing.
Your pets microchip will have a microchip number individual to them. When a pet is found and brought to a vets, dog warden or animal rescue we scan the chip to get the number. We can then search the microchip number in a national database and this will lead us to the owners details so we can contact them and reunite them with your pet.
Microchipping involves inserting a microchip with a needle under the skin, it is generally well tolerated by most pets.
Legally all dogs need to be microchipped by the time they are 12 weeks old and registered to a national database. We also strongly recommend microchipping cats but it is not a legal requirement.
After your pet has been registered to a database you will receive a Microchip Certificate in the post as proof that your animal has been microchipped. You will also receive a pin with the certificate so if needed you can long onto the database and update your details in the event of a change of address or phone number etc.
