Veterinary Surgeons

At Cuddy Vets Galway we have one full-time veterinary surgeon. Our veterinary surgeon has his own special interests. Everyone is encouraged to further progress themselves with continuing education and we expect each surgeon to return with ideas and the latest techniques to help improve the clinical care of our patients.

Patrick Cuddy

I qualified from Veterinary Medicine at UCD in 2006 and started my first veterinary job in Kildare town where I worked for 2 years in companion animals.

In 2008 I emigrated to New Zealand where I worked for a veterinary chain called VetEnt. Responsibilities included the sole charge of companion animals for their head office in Te Awamutu in the Waikato region of the North Island.

When I returned to Ireland in 2010 I wanted to broaden my large animal veterinary experience by challenging myself to work with cattle, sheep and horses. Worked locums in Carlow, Tipperary, Cork and Limerick. My love for companion animal veterinary steered my career back to Galway where I worked for Ark Vets from 2012 to 2014.

I was then given the opportunity in Tipperary to develop a companion animal clinic from the start. I spent the last 4 years building their small animal business which gave me the confidence to start my own business back in Galway.
